Snow Conditions and Equipment on the Morning of November 1st
Around Enzanso: 5–10 cm; Around Daitenso: 10–15 cm of snow has accumulated.Regarding equipment, please refrain from wearing sneakers or similar footwear. Given the current snow conditions, chain crampons are likely more effective than standard crampons for the route to Enzanso. Sturdy boots might suffice without chain crampons, but the snow surface may become slippery as more people walk on it.
Those planning to traverse to Mt.Otenshodake should carry crampons with at least six points and mountaineering boots capable of withstanding deep snow. Arriving in sneakers or similar footwear is dangerous. We also recommend bringing two trekking poles or an ice axe as balance aids. Those planning to camp at Daitenso should prepare gear suitable for severe winter conditions. Tents will need to be pitched directly on the snow.
Please note that conditions change daily,
