Ariake-so is a Japanese style lodge, located in Nagano prefecture (central Japan), famous for its large and healthy onsen(spa). Our guests enjoy bathing in our comfortable onsen, tasting Japanese traditional meal, and enjoying viewing the beautiful forest surrounding our hot spring lodge. We are located at one of the gateways of the northern “Japan Alps”, so many trekkers come to stay in summer. Ariake-so is also conveniently located for visiting the “Tateyama-Kurobe alpine route”, the greatest alpine sightseeing route in Japan, or “Matsumoto castle”, a national heritage site.

Onsen (spa)
Outdoor hot spring bath: The outdoor bath is our pride. It is wide enough for more than 20 persons take a bath at once!
You can have a relaxing time of bathing while enjoying the seasonal views and listening to birds singing.


Inside bath: The fresh smell of cypress will make you feel warm, calm and comfortable.

Private bath (staying guests only): This is especially good for a family with little children or physically challenged guest.
You can use it any time it is vacant.

We can change your meal to vegetarian food, if you request it at the time of reservation.
